Latin Name: Helix aspersa  
Distribution: Australia, Europe and North America.  
 
The brown garden snail is one of the more common snails that is eaten by humans. In some cultures it is considered to be quite a delicacy. The shell of these snails is usually a dark brown which is where the first part of its name comes from. The size of their shell is usually 3 centimeters in diameter.
