Description

Latin Name: Iguana iguana Conservation Status: Low Risk
Distribution: Central and South America Lifespan: 15 to 20 years
Estimated Size: 5 to 7 feet and up to 15 pounds

The Green Iguana lives in rain forests and near sources of water such as rivers. When in the rain forests they tend to climb to the top of the trees to bask in the sunlight. Being this high also allows them a good view of potential predators.
