Latin Name: Chelonia mydas Conservation Status: Endangered
Distribution: Hawaii, California, Florida, Mexico Maximum Length: Up to 1.5 m
Maximum Weight: 200 kg
 
Green Sea Turtles can be found in tropical, temperate and subtropical oceans around North and South America. They are the largest species of turtle with hard shells. It is estimated that around 40000 Green Sea Turtles die each and every year as a result of fishing nets and lines.
